Terms of service.
Effective Date: May 26, 2025
Sunday House is a private, invitation-based community gathering series operated by the Homuth family (“we,” “our,” or “the organizers”) at our personal lakefront property on Lake Muskoka. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern participation in Sunday House events and use of any associated services or communications.
By registering for or attending Sunday House, you acknowledge that you’ve read, understood, and agree to these Terms.
1. Nature of Sunday House
Sunday House is not a commercial camp, licensed child care facility, or public resort. It is a private, seasonal initiative aimed at fostering community, family connection, and shared lake culture.
Attendance is limited, curated, and primarily intended for friends, neighbors, and referred guests.
We reserve the right to accept or decline participation for any individual or household at our sole discretion.
2. Participation & Conduct
By attending Sunday House, you agree to:
Follow all reasonable instructions from organizers or volunteers
Treat the property, people, and programming with respect
Supervise your children unless otherwise arranged or enrolled in structured, supervised swim time
Avoid disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior
We reserve the right to revoke access or remove participants at any time for conduct that is unsafe, disrespectful, or interferes with the comfort or well-being of others.
3. Assumption of Risk
Participation in Sunday House activities involves natural outdoor elements and inherent risks, including but not limited to: swimming, boating, slips, sun exposure, and group dining.
By attending, you:
Acknowledge and voluntarily accept all associated risks
Agree that you, and any minors under your care, are participating at your own discretion and responsibility
Release the organizers, property owners, volunteers, and affiliated parties from any and all liability for personal injury, loss, or damages (except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence)
4. Children & Supervision
Unless explicitly arranged in writing, parents or guardians are expected to:
Supervise their children at all times
Ensure that children follow posted guidelines or staff instructions
Disclose any relevant allergies, medical conditions, or safety considerations in advance
Organized swim programming or supervised play blocks may be offered — but these do not constitute formal childcare, and participation remains voluntary and parent-supervised.
5. Registration, Fees & Refund Policy
Fees, if collected, are used to offset program costs (e.g., food, swim supervision, insurance, supplies).
Participation is by registration only and may be capped.
Season passes or one-time access may be offered as space allows.
All guests RSVP in advance.
If you register and choose not to continue after the first Sunday, we offer a pro-rated refund for any unused portion of your season pass — no questions asked.
6. Schedule, Weather & Cancellation
Sunday House will operate rain or shine, though there may be adjustments to programming as needed.
Dates, times, or activities may shift due to conditions, availability, or safety
Some programming may be canceled or adjusted at short notice
We will always strive to notify participants promptly and offer reasonable alternatives where possible
We are not responsible for lost costs related to travel, scheduling, or changes beyond our control.
7. Photography, Testimonials & Promotion
We may occasionally document Sunday House through photos, videos, or written stories to help capture the spirit of the events and share them with participants and friends.
By attending, you consent to the respectful and appropriate use of general images or group scenes for:
Event recaps
Private newsletters or future Sunday House communications
Low-key promotional use on social media or the Sunday House website
We will not publicly feature close-ups of minors, personal details, or identifiable individual content without explicit permission. You may opt out of being photographed or filmed at any time by notifying us in advance.
8. Evolving Nature of the Program
Sunday House is an evolving project. While it is currently private and seasonal, we may explore opportunities for growth, community partnerships, or limited funding in future seasons.
We reserve the right to:
Update these Terms as the structure or format of Sunday House changes
Pilot new offerings or test different participation models
Share anonymized or aggregated participant data (see Privacy Policy) for the purpose of improving or sustaining the program
Participants will be notified of any significant changes and may opt out at any time.
9. Questions or Contact
Sunday House is about people first — and we’re always open to feedback, questions, or concerns. If you ever need to clarify anything about these Terms, or just want to say hello:
